ADAPT is an NGO that has worked in the field of inclusive education, employment and human rights for people with disabilities for over 37 years. ADAPT (formerly the Spastics Society of India) was set up in 1972 by Dr. Mithu Alur. From a special school started with 3 children it has grown to provide services to more than 3000 children and 10,000 families annually. Services include assessment, treatment, inclusive education, continuum of support services for inclusion, counseling, skills training and job placement. ADAPT also works to influence changes in policy at the national level which impacts all marginalised groups across the country.
