estimated to be 75 billion USD. Counterfeits penetrate every pharmaceutical market and
have been responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths annually. Over 30% of
medicines available in emerging markets are estimated to be counterfeit. PharmaSecure
provides mobile telephony based authentication services and targeted market research
and advertising services by capturing verification and supply chain data (consumers can
verify authenticity of a drug by sending an SMS). The company will expand to
authentication of other consumer products and will enlarge its geographic scope in
emerging markets through its research and marketing efforts.
